Tyler J. Barnett's journey in the legal profession is marked by a longstanding commitment to excellence and a passion for advocating on behalf of injured individuals. Mr. Barnett graduated Cum Laude from the University of California, San Diego in 1999, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Public Law. Prior to embarking on his legal career, Mr. Barnett gained invaluable experience by externing for two distinct Los Angeles Superior Court judges. In 2002, he achieved his Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California Law School, where he was awarded High Honors in Pre-Trial Advocacy and assumed the role of Editor for the prestigious Hale Moot Court Honors Program.

Mr. Barnett embarked on his legal journey as an associate attorney at the renowned Law Offices of Michael J. Piuze. During his tenure, the firm secured historic verdicts, including two of the largest ever awarded to an individual plaintiff—an astounding $28 billion and $3 billion. Mr. Barnett played a pivotal role as a principal associate, specializing in catastrophic injury and automotive crashworthiness cases, securing substantial verdicts in rollover-induced roof crush ($23 million), tire failure and rollover of a 15-passenger van ($12 million), passenger restraint failure ($8 million), and SUV instability and rollover ($6 million) matters.

In 2005, Mr. Barnett launched his own law firm, dedicated to championing the rights of injured victims. His expertise and relentless commitment to justice led him to join Yuhl Carr LLP in 2007. Over the years, he has achieved remarkable success, securing multiple seven-figure awards for his personal injury clients. Some notable cases include:

Recognized for his outstanding contributions to the field of personal injury law, Mr. Barnett has received accolades from prestigious organizations, including being named in 2023 as one of the Top 100 Civil Plaintiff Attorneys by the National Trial Lawyers Association.  He was also honored consistently as one of the Top 10 Under 40 by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys and as a Southern California Super Lawyer – Rising Star.
